“ Fabulous food here. The Zhong style pork dumplings and handmade sweet and spicy thick noodles were so so delicious. The sauce was so vibrant with flavor, and the dumplings and noodles tasted very chewy and homemade. This is a staple for Asian cuisine on Buford Highway! ”
“ The Food Network rated Gu's dumplings as the best dumplings in Atlanta and I can't agree more. They are full of flavor, and by far the best dumplings I've ever tried! They are sweet and savory, and very juicy. You can adjust the spicy levels which is always a plus. I've only been twice but my favorite dish from Gu's Kitchen is the chicken with broccoli & cilantro. Paired with their chili oil, and chef's kiss, it gives the food extra dimension! I had to get a whole bottle of it. I do recommend getting a side of white rice since the entrees don't come with some. FYI there's no dine in right now but definitely still worth the try! ”
“ You Gotta try this place! Artisan dumplings and noodles here in Atlanta. Gu's is a family owned and run restaurant that serves their version of some Chinese classics with a flare. They have two to three people making dumplings all day long. We always get the hand made Zhong Style Chicken Dumplings. Chicken or pork, doesn't matter it's soo very yummy. The dumplings are tender with just the right seasoning if the meat, and the sauce is a perfect addition to them. Be sure to mix up the dumplings with the sauce before eating. Next we get the Handmade Sweet & Spicy Thick Noodles. You can really taste a difference when it's made from scratch. Flavorful, thick noodles with just the right amount of seasoning and sauce. Tonight we also got the Spicy Dried Eggplant...which doesn't taste like eggplant at all. Perfectly cooked light and crispy with just the right spice and seasoning. It literally melts in your mouth. To our typical, we added Dan Dan Noodles. These are medium thickness with seasoning and sauce and some flavorful ground beef sprinkled in. Then we had the Spicy Crispy Beef. This has got to be my new favorite here. The beef was so tender. It was breaded with a light breading that seemed to have both nuts and flour as well as spices. It was cooked to perfection, still keeping the beef tender but making the perfect crispiness. Served with minced garlic and Cilantro, spring onions and chilis. Wow, what a great dish. Last, well actually first I started with Hot and Sour Soup. You can always tell the quality of a Chinese restaurant by the taste of the hot and sour soup. This one has to be in my top 5 of all time. A perfect balance of sour with spicy, mushrooms, tofu and other ingredients. The food is always served hot, fresh and quick. If I lived closer I would eat there a couple times a week. If you haven't ever been there, substitute your typical Chinese food with Gu's and experience some Artisan Chinese food. You will forever compare typical Chinese food to Gu's. Hen hao! ”
“ With a few days advanced notice they were able to reserve a table for our party of eight. I was looking for a delicious Chinese owned restaurant that we could order authentic dishes as we discussed our book Shanghai Sisters. The menu was robust, the service was incredible and all of my friends had rave reviews about what I found. Everyone loved the eggplant with basil. It was fresh and delicious and bright with the basil. The Shanghai street noodles with shrimp were light but filling. The Mongolian beef was full of flavor and paired great with the fried rice. The dumplings were delicious and were in the spicy side so out of my group there were a couple that preferred less spices. The string beans were a suggestion from the server and they didn’t disappoint. They were a great addition as we ordered family style and passed the plates around. This was plenty of food for our party of eight. If you have a chance make sure you get an order of the crab Rangoons, they come out nice and hot and have a creamy center. ”
“ I came to Gu’s Kitchen because it came up with a 4.4 rating for Chinese near me. It was very good! The food tasted authentic, came out fairly quickly and had tons of flavor. Food portions were definitely shareable. I would recommend the Chongqing Spicy Chicken, chicken dumplings and the white rice. Next time I will order their noodles and fried rice. ”
“ Absolutely loved this Schezuan restaurant. It doesn't look like much but the food was incredible. The customer service was great, they tended to us very quickly despite having a rush of to go orders come in. The atmosphere is nothing notable but it's clean. The food was flavorful and delicious. We got the Chongqing Spicy Chicken Noodles which had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. I got the smoked pork fried rice. The pork is smoked for 5 hours. You can definitely taste the smoky flavor in the dish and I loved it! This place was a wonderful find and I highly recommend ”
